Audiences were ushered into a suspended hallway between two buildings, with 22 miniature theatres within its walls, leading to a fire-escape door, one person at one time.

 

Within the space, the sound of hypnotic utopian birds played as lights along the floor aisle raced back and forth in hypnotic waves. Within each miniature theatre, lined with black suede, were hand-made and found sculptural objects representing capitalist material desires—each a promise of an intangible ideal—a paradise beyond their walls.

 

Caught between the scent of another unseen world, this in-between space of 'willing suspension' held its audiences in a realm of an unending desire for an intangible dream, seduced by a sensory hypnosis leading nowhere.
